The National Trust is urging UK workers to “take a big blooming break” to enjoy the “mood-lifting” benefits of blossom, with more set to bloom as temperatures are forecast to reach 20C in some places.
The charity has predicted a more “typical” year for the annual blossom displays after they arrived earlier than normal last year.
Blackthorn, cherry and plum trees are among the first to burst into flower as these photos taken across London by our readers show.
Polling by YouGov, for the National Trust, revealed 94% of people reported feeling happy when seeing blossom in the spring but only one in 10 UK workers spent their break outdoors in green spaces, or in nature for a walk or to sit among trees.
