Steve Bray, known as Mr Stop Brexit, uploaded the clip of his exchange with Foreign Office minister Nigel Adams. The footage shows Mr Adams give the four-letter response at least twice as Mr Bray attempts to question him. A spokesperson for the MP said his remarks “no doubt reflect those of many democratic representatives”. The video, shared on social media by Mr Bray, shows the pair talking in the street on Wednesday evening following the Commons vote on a tax increase to help fund health and social care. Book Novotel Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJsGZL-zb54 After questioning Mr Adams about the tax increase, the MP responds: “I’m really not interested in talking to an odd bloke with a top hat on chasing me down the street”. He then tells Mr Bray, from Port Talbot in Wales, to “talk to your own MP” and swears at him. The 52-year-old campaigner became a regular sight outside Parliament following the EU referendum, with Mr Bray repeatedly interrupting live TV broadcasts with his cries of “stop Brexit”. Speaking to BBC Radio York, he said: “You should be able to ask an MP a question without being told where to go. “This is at Parliament, it’s not as if I’m on his doorstep at his house, this is the seat of power – if you write to these MPs, half of them don’t reply. “I don’t harass MPs, I ask them questions and I like to think I’m speaking for other people who can’t be there to ask those questions.” Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3syHHGzkF_s In a statement, a spokesperson for Selby and Ainsty MP Mr Adams said: “Mr Bray has spent the last few years harassing, following and hurling abuse at elected Parliamentarians as well as interrupting journalists, preventing some from doing their job of reporting the news and conducting interviews. “Mr Adams’ remarks no doubt reflect those of many democratic representatives trying to deliver on the will of the people and others seeking to go about their business who have been harassed or had their work disrupted by this individual and his handful of followers.” Book Novotel Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RR8YYeb4PMk Banzai Japan Social Media Fumi Fujisaki Idol Riko Ueno Idol Rino Ibusuki Idol Yunagi Nino Idol Shiori Fujisaki Idol Kana Ichinose Idol Hoshino Arice Idol Sasa Sasagawa Idol Kosaka Yuu Idol Tsukumo Aira Idol Maika Ando Idol Yuuki Mochimaru Idol
‘Farage and Lowe need their heads banged together’

Great Yarmouth MP Rupert Lowe, now an Independent, was suspended by the party over an allegation of “verbal threats” – a claim which he has denied. Farage, MP for Clacton, said the row had “dented” Reform’s “unity” but wrote in The Telegraph, external that it would have been “inconceivable” not to take action. The ordeal has since prompted the launch of a police investigation, but what do voters in each of their respective constituencies make of what has happened? Reform UK won five out of 650 constituencies in the July 2024 general election, but with Lowe’s suspension they now have four MPs in the House of Commons. Mention of Lowe’s election win has been removed from Reform UK’s homepage, external list of the other four wins. In Lowe’s constituency on the Norfolk coast, retired police officer John Dupen, who voted for Reform, said he felt the row and in-fighting had “taken the impetus” out of the party. “They were becoming a credible force, but I think Farage has done the right thing to remove him from the party, but mud sticks doesn’t it?” he suggested. “Farage is a man of conviction and if he says something, he normally does it. “They could have done without it, but I think they will get around it and time will heal it.” Book Novotel Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJsGZL-zb54 Lowe is accused of workplace bullying, and also of making threats of physical violence against the party’s chairman Zia Yusuf. The MP has said there was “zero credible evidence” against him, and claimed he was suspended in response to him previously criticising Farage in an interview. The 67-year-old former chairman of Southampton FC also said he would be “seeking legal advice”. Great Yarmouth resident, Carmel Westgate, 67, said she believed Lowe was “a good man” who “stands by his words” and had tried to help the town. “I personally don’t think this should have been public and Nigel Farage should have come and met with Rupert and spoke with him behind closed doors,” she said. “You’re innocent until proven guilty, but people will believe what they want to believe. “Why has it all of a sudden come out now? Is it jealousy? Is it because he has spoken his mind? Is it because he is loved by a lot of people?” Gloria Reynolds, 78, agrees that “the job he was doing was fairly good” and said, “as a Christian”, she would continue “praying for him”. “There is a lot of witch-hunting going on amongst the parties nowadays, but as long as he carries on doing a good job I can’t see it makes any difference,” she said. “Nigel is Nigel and he is very full of himself I feel, but until we know the whole situation it is difficult to say.” Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3syHHGzkF_s Retired midwife, Francis Baxter, 70, did not vote for Lowe because of his association with Farage, but said since being voted in he had been “positive” for the coastal constituency, which also includes Hopton, Gorleston, Caister and Winterton. She added: “I do think he is getting things moving and shaking up the area and I have quite admired what he has done. “I feel quite strongly actually that he is being set up and that is quite a fashionable thing to do now. “He might have done it, I don’t know, but I feel there is more to it than meets the eye. Reform had been riding high in recent polls, but some now believe the spat could see its popularity decrease. Christopher Lambert, 84, believes Farage has made the right decision in suspending Lowe. “I think Nigel Farage’s party has done exceptionally well until now, [but] when you get in-fighting in a party it does the party no good at all,” he said. “I am on the fence about Reform and I should think I will stay on the fence. I have seen many, many general elections, but where you get in-fighting it just kills it. “I think the Conservatives and maybe Labour are rubbing their hands. “I liked Nigel Farage and I still like him. He speaks as he feels it is, and I think he is good.” Further down the coast… Heading south along the east coast, we arrive the Essex constituency of Clacton, which also includes the towns of Frinton-on-Sea, Walton-on-the-Naze and the village of Jaywick. Farage voter and Clacton resident, Dorothy King, 82, said: “It is probably a storm in a teacup to a certain extent and I cannot see what they are going to achieve by pushing each other about. “I don’t know where it will go and if they will keep their little argument going or if it will just peter out.” Jan Green, who lives in Kirby Cross next to Frinton, did not vote for Farage. “I think they are behaving like children and are acting rather silly and I do not agree with it,” she told the BBC. “Both of them are very strong-willed people and I don’t think either of them will back down. “Farage is our MP here, although we don’t see him.” Joan James, who lives in Walton-on-the-Naze, said Farage and Lowe needed “their heads banged together”. “They need to get on with it,” she added. Frinton resident Lorraine O’Louthlin, who voted for Labour last year, said Farage was “definitely” right to suspend Lowe. “I think he has done good because some parties do not act on these things, but if someone has done wrong in the party then get rid of them,” she said. Frinton resident Lorraine Rodwell, meanwhile, described the spat as “boring”. “I can’t say I have read about it because it

Book Novotel Hotel Twenty-nine councillors defect to Reform UK Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPElmgQJGBo Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has welcomed 29 councillors who have defected to his party in recent weeks from parties including the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats. It takes the party’s total number of council seats to more than 100. Speaking at a press conference in Westminster, Farage said the defections demonstrated how his party was “broadening and deepening”. However, it comes as some Reform members are expressing concern about the party’s leadership and the suspension of MP Rupert Lowe from the party. On Sunday, Maria Bowtell, a councillor on East Riding of Yorkshire Council, quit the party. She accused, external the leadership of “a lack of integrity and resolve” and said the treatment of Lowe had been “the final straw”. Farage acknowledged that his party had experienced a “little bit of turbulence” over the past few weeks. He said the suspension of Lowe had caused “consternation” adding: “Any argument that’s seen to happen within the family does, but I can promise you that in terms of our progress and our planning, that upset is very much at the edges.” Book Novotel Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJsGZL-zb54 Lowe, the MP for Great Yarmouth, was suspended by the party and referred to police over allegations he made “threats of physical violence” against party chairman Zia Yusuf. The party also said it had received allegations of bullying in Lowe’s parliamentary and constituency office. Lowe has said the party’s allegations are “untrue and false”. He argued he had been suspended for criticising Farage in a newspaper interview. Addressing the row, Farage said: “We’ve been increasingly concerned about the behaviour of one of our members of Parliament, and when we found out that some serious complaints have gone in, we thought, you know what, let’s just suspend the whip and let’s find out what the truth is, and we will wait.” He said the report they had commissioned into to the allegations could be completed this week. Farage also criticised “the online abuse and frankly outright racism” directed at Yusuf in recent weeks. Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3syHHGzkF_s He said the public spat with Lowe would not “put a dent” in Reform UK’s electoral chances, as the party gears up for local elections on 1 May. “We’re going to be out there canvassing, campaigning, and doing our best to prove that the polls aren’t virtual, actually, the real votes exist out there on the ground.” The party has said it plans to stand in all the council seats that are due to hold elections in May. Of Reform UK’s 113 councillor seats, 15 have been won through elections, including seven from Labour and four from the Conservatives. The remaining 98 seats have turned Reform UK through defections – 62 of those defections have happened since the beginning of the year. The majority of the defections (66) were originally elected as Conservative councillors. Three came from Labour and one came from the Liberal Democrats. The rest were independent councillors or came from local parties. Farage has previously spoken about his aim to “professionalise” Reform UK and the importance of vetting the party’s candidates. Following Monday’s press conference, Farage was questioned about reports, external that in 2022 his party’s head of vetting Jack Aaron had said Adolf Hitler was “brilliant” at inspiring “people into action”. Asked if Reform UK would be investigating the comments, Farage said: “No, don’t be ridiculous. “This is an orthodox Jew who said Hitler was evil but he acknowledged he was very good at getting a crowd.” Questioned about his comments by the Times last year, Aaron said:, external “Yes, Hitler was as brilliant as he was utter evil. How is that controversial to say, given that he was able to turn the Germans to such destructive acts, including killing many members of my own family?” Book Novotel Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RR8YYeb4PMk Banzai Japan Social Media Fumi Fujisaki Idol Riko Ueno Idol Rino Ibusuki Idol Yunagi Nino Idol Shiori Fujisaki Idol Kana Ichinose Idol Hoshino Arice Idol Sasa Sasagawa Idol Kosaka Yuu Idol Tsukumo Aira Idol Maika Ando Idol Yuuki Mochimaru Idol

Book Novotel Hotel Homes evacuated in Notting Hill building collapse Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPElmgQJGBo People have been evacuated from their homes in west London after a building partially collapsed overnight. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said it was called to multiple properties on McGregor Road in Notting Hill at about 01:10 GMT on Wednesday. The front gable end of a row of three terraced houses, which had been converted into flats, fell to the ground. Nobody needed medical treatment at the scene, a spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service (LAS) said. Book Novotel Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJsGZL-zb54 Alice Zielasko, who lives in a street next to McGregor Road, said the damage “looked crazy”. “There were a lot of parts of the building lying on the pavement. When I looked up I saw the roof part was damaged. “There were I think three cars underneath covered with dust and damaged a little bit. I didn’t hear anything in the night.” Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3syHHGzkF_s John Bedeau lives on the ground floor of the building on McGregor Road and was woken up by the incident. He said: “I was in bed and I heard this rumble, I thought it was some form of earthquake or something, and I just thought ‘that sounds strange, and why’s the house shaking like that?’ “So I got out of bed and looked through the window and as I opened the door, I saw all the rubble. I couldn’t believe it, I thought I was in a movie.” He spent the rest of the night in a hotel and has been told to expect to spend seven days there. His flat is not damaged but all the communal areas “are crushed”. “We’re [the residents] still in shock because you don’t expect something like this, the top of a house crumbling down. We’re trying to get over things, calm down and get back to reality,” he added. ‘Immediate investigation’ A spokesperson for Kensington and Chelsea Council said officers went to the scene to see if residents needed support. “Thankfully no-one was injured and we provided accommodation and refreshments for residents who needed somewhere to stay.” Structural engineers and a building control team are assessing the situation. The spokesperson warned of disruption in the local area, including road closures, throughout the day. The building is managed by Notting Hill Genesis. A spokesperson said: “We are arranging temporary alternative accommodation for the households affected, and will continue to do so until their property has been repaired. “We have launched an immediate investigation into the causes of this faulty roof and what work needs to be done to ensure our tenants can safely return.” The LFB sent two fire engines from North Kensington fire station and a fire rescue unit from Chelsea fire station to the incident, which was over for firefighters by 03:00. An ambulance crew and a Hazardous Area Response Team were sent to the scene by the LAS. Landlord licences to stamp out ‘dangerous’ HMOs

Buy Now An error occurred. Buy Now An error occurred. Book Novotel Hotel Landlord licences to stamp out ‘dangerous’ HMOs Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPElmgQJGBo A council in north London has said it needs to bring back tougher rules to deal with “rogue landlords” of houses of multiple occupancy (HMOs). Brent Council says there is currently a “significant number” of such homes in the borough that are “substandard and potentially dangerous” and which pose a risk to residents. The council plans to restart a licensing scheme which saw 2,500 HMOs licensed and helped the council “improve standards and management practices”. It is now consulting on the plans and hopes to bring them in this autumn. Brent council says HMO licensing makes sure that houses are ‘safe, well-managed, and provide basic facilities for tenants’, and says it gives powers to officers to inspect licensed properties to ensure they meet the required standards. The consultation states: “It is important that the council uses all available tools to improve conditions for tenants in this sector. Licensing is one of the tools and plays a key role in this effort.” Book Novotel Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJsGZL-zb54 A mandatory licence is already needed for HMOs with five or more people from two or more households. The additional rules would cover typically smaller HMOs with three or more people from two or more different households. Licensing imposes specific obligations on the landlord to demonstrate that their property is safe while enabling the council to enforce rules. The licence would cost landlords around £1,040 for the application, processing and inspection of up to five habitable rooms – and a further £25 per additional room. Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3syHHGzkF_s Opinions wanted Councillor Fleur Donnelly-Jackson, said: “Over the past 20 years, the number of privately rented homes in Brent has grown, and now makes up almost half of all homes in the borough. “We want to make sure these homes are safe and good quality for tenants.” She added: “While we have seen significant improvements, we believe that another additional HMO licensing scheme is necessary to maintain and improve the management of HMOs in Brent. “We want to encourage residents to give their opinions on these new proposals for HMOs.” Book Novotel Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RR8YYeb4PMk Banzai Japan Social Media Fumi Fujisaki Idol Riko Ueno Idol Rino Ibusuki Idol Yunagi Nino Idol Shiori Fujisaki Idol Kana Ichinose Idol Hoshino Arice Idol Sasa Sasagawa Idol Kosaka Yuu Idol Tsukumo Aira Idol Maika Ando Idol Yuuki Mochimaru Idol
Notting Hill Carnival is poorly run – Met chief

Buy Now An error occurred. Buy Now An error occurred. Book Novotel Hotel Notting Hill Carnival is poorly run – Met chief Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPElmgQJGBo Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has said the Notting Hill Carnival is a “poorly run event” and has “deep concerns” about crowd risks. He said the annual carnival was “not run by experts in event management” and feared a “mass fatality event” through crushing, like the Hillsborough disaster. Sir Mark was speaking during a meeting of the London Policing Board , externalat City Hall on Thursday. The organisers, Notting Hill Carnival Ltd, have said they had “experts from all areas of event organisation” and had 3,300 stewards this year to help manage crowds. Book Novotel Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJsGZL-zb54 Sir Mark said he had “complete support” for the event but was “deeply concerned” about its safety, with an estimated one million people taking to the streets of west London. The commissioner said police should “only be at an event to deal with crime and disorder issues” and that the crowd management of any event was the responsibility of the event organisers. He added: “They struggle to discharge their responsibilities effectively and we try to rescue the situation. So we put in mitigations to try and reduce the risk of a Hillsborough-type event.” He said this was not an effective way to manage or police the carnival. His comments come after Assistant Commissioner Matt Twist said the organisers “did not have enough stewards” on shift over the carnival weekend. ‘Not run by experts’ Sir Mark said: “With crime, it is less about the numbers than the severity. It was over 300 arrests, there were two murders at this year’s carnival and I think there were six other stabbings, and 60-70 weapons recovered. “This is a very different arrest profile to what you would see at even at the most difficult football matches or Glastonbury, or something like that,” he added. “Crime control is much harder because it’s a poorly run event. It’s not run by experts in event management in the way that most big events are.” He told the board that the Met had a “very positive” relationship with the event organisers and that officers had met with them, together with the local authorities, to work on a “reset” on the way carnival is organised. Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3syHHGzkF_s The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, responded to the comments by telling the board: “It’s really important the commissioner airs his concerns.” He emphasised that the carnival was not run by City Hall nor by the Metropolitan Police. He told the board: “I’ve seen things (at carnival) that I can’t un-see and the commissioner has briefed me on things we can’t pretend we don’t know about. “We’ll be working with organisers to try and address these concerns,” he added. ‘Police had a negative impact’ The organisers of the carnival, Notting Hill Carnival Ltd, have said there are inaccuracies in the Met’s response. It says the carnival is overseen by a number of events management experts and safety advisers. In terms of crowd control, a spokesperson told the BBC: “We do not recognise any situation in which it was required for the police to be called in to help with crowd management.” They added: “When the police did take these actions, it was not always communicated across the organising team, which is vital to how the event runs. “And it was not done under consultation as was agreed in the event plan. When the police did act, it had a negative impact, causing greater crowding issues.” The spokesperson told the BBC: “We have lost the trust in the Metropolitan Police as a partner in the running of Notting Hill Carnival. Their ongoing rhetoric suggests they are not a co-operating partner.” Book Novotel Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RR8YYeb4PMk Banzai Japan Social Media Fumi Fujisaki Idol Riko Ueno Idol Rino Ibusuki Idol Yunagi Nino Idol Shiori Fujisaki Idol Kana Ichinose Idol Hoshino Arice Idol Sasa Sasagawa Idol Kosaka Yuu Idol Tsukumo Aira Idol Maika Ando Idol Yuuki Mochimaru Idol

Book Novotel Hotel TfL brings 4G to all Elizabeth Line stations and tunnels Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPElmgQJGBo The entire Elizabeth line now has mobile coverage, including tunnelled sections. Transport for London (TfL) and Boldyn Networks have completed the work to provide high-speed 4G mobile coverage across the entire line. This means customers can stay connected throughout their journey, a significant milestone in the Mayor and TfL’s commitment to bring mobile connectivity to London’s transport network. Book Novotel Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJsGZL-zb54 The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “Bringing mobile coverage to the Underground network is a key commitment of mine, so I’m delighted that the entire Elizabeth line network now has 4G connectivity. “This is yet another step towards ensuring Londoners and visitors can stay connected on our transport network and means customers can access the latest travel information, keep in touch with colleagues, friends and family throughout their journey on the Elizabeth line.” Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3syHHGzkF_s The first tunnel sections between Paddington and Liverpool Street received mobile coverage earlier this year. Now, the remaining tunnels have been equipped, allowing seamless connectivity for those travelling across central London to Whitechapel, Stratford, Canary Wharf, Custom House, and Woolwich. The expansion of high-speed mobile coverage to London’s underground stations and tunnels allows customers to remain connected as they travel around the capital. This is also a key part of TfL and the Mayor’s plan to help Londoners stay safe while using the network. The four mobile network operators – Three UK, EE, Vodafone, and Virgin Media O2 (VMO2) – are all part of the rollout. The extended coverage will also provide TfL staff with better connectivity to support the safe and reliable running of the network, as well as host the new Emergency Services Network (ESN). When fully operational, the ESN will provide first responders with immediate access to life-saving data, images, and information in live situations and emergencies. Andy Lord, London’s Transport Commissioner, said: “I’m delighted that the entire Elizabeth line now has mobile coverage, making it even easier for customers to stay connected especially as we approach the festive period. “This has been a vital project for our customers involving a range of complex engineering skills, all carried out during engineering hours, and we are working hard to bring the benefits of being able to stay in contact while travelling through our city as quickly as possible to the rest of the network.” Boldyn Networks, awarded a 20-year concession by TfL in June 2021, is working to introduce high-speed 4G and 5G mobile coverage across the whole Tube, Docklands Light Railway (DLR), and Elizabeth line network, including on the London Overground Windrush line between Highbury & Islington and New Cross. Large sections of central London now have coverage, and work is underway to expand coverage along the Northern line towards Morden, as well as between King’s Cross St Pancras and Moorgate by the end of the year and early 2025. Coverage on the Bakerloo line will shortly be extended along the tunnelled sections between Piccadilly Circus and Embankment, with further stations along the line, as well as the Piccadilly and Victoria lines, set to get coverage in the coming months. Book Novotel Hotel Heaven nightclub to reopen after licence hearing Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPElmgQJGBo Popular London nightclub Heaven is allowed to reopen after its operating licence was revoked on public safety grounds following an alleged rape. The Metropolitan Police had successfully applied to Westminster Council to suspend the licence of the Villiers Street LGBTQ venue on 15 November after the attack was reported. A council hearing last month was told a woman was raped near the club by a security guard on 1 November. A member of security staff has been charged with rape, the Met said. Book Novotel Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJsGZL-zb54 The council agreed on Friday to reinstate Heaven’s licence subject to stricter conditions, including “no-entry” after 03:00 as well as other new measures.‘Turning point’ Licensing committee chair Maggie Carman said: “The committee agree with the Metropolitan Police that the premises is associated with serious crime. “The circumstances around the horrific and traumatic incident suffered by the victim have been uppermost in our minds.” She added: “There is a clear change in the general management of the premises.” Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3syHHGzkF_s Ms Carman added the conditions agreed between the operator, Jeremy Joseph, and the Met Police were a “turning point” for the venue and the LGBTQ community. Last month, the Met Police said the venue was the “highest crime generator in the borough” but had since agreed to impose stricter security measures. Among the changes will be to employ all door security staff through a single company, an increased security presence along the queue into the club as well as enhanced welfare policies for patrons. Revellers will also be banned from drinking in the queue into the venue. The licensing meeting also heard representations from neighbouring residents who complained about noise levels from the venue. The club operator has agreed to have more engagement with them. Mr Joseph’s representative told the meeting: “Heaven and all of the authorities sitting around this table want the same thing – that visitors should be able to come, have a wonderful time and get home safely.” The meeting heard there would be regular audits by a licensing consultant to ensure all of the new conditions are being adhered to. Book Novotel Hotel Online star Hawk Tuah girl faces crypto coin criticism Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPElmgQJGBo Book Novotel Hotel Haliey Welch, known mostly as the star of the viral “Hawk Tuah” meme, is facing criticism after her newly launched cryptocurrency nosedived in value. Her “Hawk” digital coin hit a $490m market cap shortly after it launched on Wednesday, before suddenly losing more than 95% of its value within hours. This has led some, including YouTube cryptocurrency investigator Coffeezilla, to accuse Ms Welch of scamming investors with a “pump and dump” – where the people behind a coin hype up its price before launch, then sell it for profit. She has denied allegations that her team sold any of the tokens they owned. Approached Ms Welch’s representatives for comment. “Team hasn’t sold one token,” she wrote in a copy and pasted post on X , external(formerly Twitter) on Wednesday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJsGZL-zb54 She added that no “KOL” (key opinion leaders) were gifted a free token. Ms Welch had previously distributed free Hawk tokens to some fans ahead of the launch across social media. Hawk launched on the Solana blockchain at around 22:00 GMT on Wednesday, and its market capitalisation soared to highs of $490m shortly after. However it fell sharply from this high to around $60m just 20 minutes later. Fans and investors have accused Ms Welch and her team of “misleading” and “betraying” them and suggested the launch had been a “rug pull” – where promoters of a cryptocurrency draw in buyers, only to stop trading activity and make off with money raised from sales. A community note on Ms Welch’s X post contests her explanation, saying her team had been selling their Hawk coins since launch.Scam allegations Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3syHHGzkF_s Coffeezilla, real name Stephen Findeisen, also claimed that Hawk gave “insiders” an advantage. “Unfortunately with situations like this, they’re not targeting crypto bros, they’re mostly targeting actual fans who have never been involved in the crypto space before,” he said in a video viewed more than 1.4 million times. He accused Ms Welch’s team of “profiting from a rug pull”. “These people were unwilling to take any accountability” of the “Hawk Tuah scam”, he claimed, after sharing a clip of him speaking to some of the people behind the cryptocurrency. Ms Welch’s post on X claimed that her team attempted to prevent so-called “snipers”, who buy and sell cryptocurrencies quickly at moments when they are likely to make the most money from a gap in buy and sell price – sometimes using automated trading tools – by imposing higher fees on one exchange. The team behind the cryptocurrency, OverHere, has dismissed other claims about the launch in an X post, external. It stressed that “Haliey’s Team has sold absolutely no tokens whatsoever”. Meme coins such as this have been booming in popularity due to their jokey, cheap appeal for investors. They are often viewed as being less risky than more high profile crypto assets like Bitcoin or Ethereum, but carry the same dangers – with often no protection for those who lose money on them. Carol Alexander, professor of finance at Sussex University, told the BBC on Thursday that while more young people are investing in meme coins, many of them are losing money. Several celebrities or influencers who have ventured into the crypto market have faced similar backlashes. In 2021, Kim Kardashian was fined $1.26m by US regulators after she failed to disclose that she had been paid to post an advert for a cryptocurrency scheme called EthereumMax. More recently, YouTuber Logan Paul was accused of misleading fans by promoting crypto coins or investments without divulging his own financial interest in them.Who is ‘Hawk Tuah Girl’ Haliey Welch? Known online as the “Hawk Tuah girl”, Ms Welch went viral after speaking the onomatopoeia “hawk tuah” – imitating the sound of someone spitting – during an interview in June. It made the 22-year-old, from Belfast, Tennessee, an overnight internet sensation. She amassed hundreds of thousands of followers across various social platforms and launched her own merchandise and a podcast called “Talk Tuah”.Actress Chloe Fineman sits in a TV set on a white chair, wearing a cowboy hat, white vest top, denim shorts and silver cowboy boots. She is impersonating Hawk Tuah girl Haliey Welch. Her manager told the Hollywood Reporter in July, external that she was unique in not having sought out internet fame, having been off social media for mental health reasons for several months before appearing in the now-viral “Hawk Tuah” video.
