10 musical acts you shouldn’t miss out on at Japan Expo Paris 2023

Buy Now An error occurred. Buy Now An error occurred. Book Novotel Hotel 10 musical acts you shouldn’t miss out on at Japan Expo Paris 2023 Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPElmgQJGBo It is almost time for another edition of Japan Expo Paris and that means we will highlight a selection of musical artists that we think you should not miss out on. Just like every year, many artists will again take to the various stages of the French event, which is scheduled to take place from 13 July to 16 July at Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, so be sure to check out the Japan Expo Paris website to inspire yourself and, above all, to start scheduling as it promises to be a packed event. Here is our list of recommendations. Wings of Artemis Inspired by Greek mythology, idol group Wings of Artemis made their stage debut in November 2020, in the middle of the pandemic. With the mission to bring love, courage and friendship to this world full of chaos, they have released several singles and a full-length album. The group will have several showcases and signing sessions during Japan Expo Paris, plus there is a fan meeting scheduled on 13 July and a 45-minute concert where they will share the stage with BANZAI JAPAN, and U&Pia on the last day of Japan Expo. Yuzu Natsumi & Ikumi Togawa Thinking about classical Japanese music, one of the first things that comes to mind for many is the string instrument called shamisen. And if that applies to you too it might be a nice experience to see Yuzu Natsumi perform live on that very instrument. While watching the show you can experience some wonderful traditional dance performed by Ikumi Togawa and those pair very well together. If you want to experience Japanese culture from a different angle check them out! Yukka Yukka is no unknown name, she has been highlighted several times on AVO Magazine.  After the possibility to perform in the United States and the United Kingdom, singer-songwriter Yukka finally got the chance to go to France to perform at Japan Expo Paris. The musician is a self-producing multi-talented musician and is known for doing street performances. During the 2023 edition of Japan Expo Paris, she will give several showcases, join a game show and will also have a couple of signing sessions throughout the event. Book Novotel Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJsGZL-zb54 Vicke Blanka Chances are his name won’t be unfamilair to you, having made a popular opening song to Black Clover. Smooth deep notes with catchy high parts in the chorus to get you energized & a nice instrumental with band instruments, an electronic beat and/or keys. He has a variety of different songs with various different vibes and some of them also feature French language which makes him a uniquely good fit for an event like Japan Expo Paris. This multi-talented musician does it all, so one thing you can be sure off is that you will have a great time when you stop by. Check out his show on the Friday afternoon and if you would like to see more of his other sides check out if he is just as talented in the kitchen with cooking youtuber Gastronogeek on Saturday morning. U&Pia This year, Japan Expo Paris has invited several idol groups to perform, including dance and vocal boyband U&Pia. This self-produced group links Japanese pop and Korean pop, coming up with and performing everything themselves from concepts, songs, costumes to marketing. Last December, the group made their debut and have grown from five group members to seven. They will have several showscases and signing sessions, including a performance where they share the stage with Wings of Artemis and BANZAI JAPAN. Sakurazaka46 One of the great parts of seeing an Idol group perform is seeing how in sync they perform. And in several of their performance videos you can see that they have nailed this (for example the live performance of Dead end). Aside from that all the members look really cute and they have the dance moves to match. And if that’s something you like seeing Sakurazaka46, until 2020 active under the name Keyakizaka46, will be a great experience. This will be the first time that they perform outside of Japan so if you check them out you can be part of their Western debut Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3syHHGzkF_s Sera Amagi Born in Los Angeles and raised in Tokyo, singer-songwriter Sera Amagi makes music she characterises as ethnic fantasy, connecting elements of world music with an ode to Japanese culture. In her career, she has released five albums and six singles. Sera Amagi debuted as a guest vocalist on FATE GEAR’s Killers in the Sky Part 2 (they are touring Europe very soon). For her shows at Japan Expo Paris, she will bring her guitarist Yuukineko with her to share a bit of their mystical world. The showcases are scheduled for 14, 15 and 16 July. Yoshiki He is known for being part of the legendary group X Japan (often credited for being the start of Visual Kei) but even when performing alone he can fill up the stage with his wonderful voice and piano accompaniment. As a solo performer Yoshiki focuses more on classical music and he has some beautifully written songs written to share the emotions and thoughts to deal with the grief of losing his mother. With these songs he made a return to performing and at Japan Expo he will give you guys a preview of what you can expect from his World Tour later in the year. If you’re interested in seeing a living legend of Japanese music be sure to check Yoshiki out and if you can’t keep a look out for his tour: Yoshiki Classical 10th Anniversary World Tour with Orchestra 2023 “REQUIEM”. KAGURAMUSOU They attended Japan Expo Paris last year for several shows and this year KAGURAMUSOU will return for another set of performances. This band can

The picturesque resort town aims to attract more Thai travellers who seek natural and cultural experiences that are available throughout the year’s four seasons. Considering its position as a leading highland retreat for locals, Karuizawa remains relatively unknown in Thailand after attracting just 8,725 Thai visitors in 2023 per data from Nagano Prefecture. This may change thanks to its participation at JAPAN EXPO Thailand. Book Novotel Hotel Karuizawa Tourism and Economic Affairs division chief Kazuto Sato explained: “Karuizawa is exhibiting at JAPAN EXPO Thailand 2025 because we see the opportunity for engagement and the potential to attract more Thais with a new destination in Japan that offers all-year round experiences in an unspoiled natural environment.” Banzai Japan Music Video A cool and exhilarating retreat Karuizawa’s popularity dates back to the late nineteenth century as a summer retreat for missionaries and diplomats based in Tokyo. It soon attracted the upper echelons of Japanese society, including members of the Imperial Family, becoming the highland resort town of choice to escape Tokyo’s blistering heat. Located only 70 minutes by Shinkansen from Tokyo, Karuizawa is one of Japan’s most renowned highland resorts and is located 1,000 metres above sea level at the foot of Mount Asama. It is a fascinating oasis for those who cherish natural mountain landscapes, changing seasons, plus a vibrant food and shopping scene to round out the offering. Its excellent ski slopes and long golfing season, which runs into December, have also proved popular with Japan’s elite. K-pop star gives tearful testimony on harassment

Book Novotel Hotel K-pop star gives tearful testimony on harassment Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPElmgQJGBo A member of the chart-topping K-pop group NewJeans has tearfully testified to South Korean lawmakers as part of an inquiry into workplace harassment. Hanni, 20, alleged that entertainment agency Hybe had deliberately undermined her band, and accused senior managers of deliberately ignoring her. Following multiple incidents, she said: “I came to the realisation that this wasn’t just a feeling. I was honestly convinced that the company hated us.” After hearing her testimony, the CEO of NewJeans’ record label, Ador – a subsidiary of Hybe – said she would “listen more closely” to her artists, adding: “I wonder if there was more I could have done.” ‘Ignore her’ Hanni, who is Vietnamese-Australian, was testifying to the Labour Committee of South Korea’s National Assembly at a hearing about workplace harassment. She was called to give evidence last month, after NewJeans went public with allegations about their treatment following the dismissal of their mentor Min Hee-Jin. Min, who co-founded Ador in 2021, has been a key figure in the band’s success but she was removed from her post in August, following accusations that she had planned to split from Hybe, taking NewJeans with her. Min repeatedly denied those. Then, in September, NewJeans took the unusual step of going public with their dissatisfaction at the situation. Posting on a burner YouTube account, they demanded Min’s reinstatement and made claims of workplace harassment. In one incident, Hanni said that when she greeted the members of another band at their record label offices, a manager had instructed them to “ignore her”. The singer said that when she reported the incident, her concerns had been brushed off. Book Novotel Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJsGZL-zb54 During her testimony, Hanni went into further detail about the exchange. “We have a floor in our building where we do hair and make-up. And at that time, I was waiting in the hallway because my hair and make-up was done first.” As she waited, three singers from another band and their manager walked past, Hanni continued. “I said hello to all of them, and then they came back about five or 10 minutes later. “On her way out, [the manager] made eye contact with me, turned to the rest of the group and said, ‘Ignore her like you didn’t see her’. “I don’t understand why she would say something like that in the work environment,” she added. Speaking at the National Assemblyin Seoul, Hanni said this was not an isolated incident, and claimed that senior members of Hybe management had also given her the cold shoulder. “Since my debut [in NewJeans], we ran into a person in a high-up position many times, but they never greeted me when I greeted them,” she said. “I understood from living in Korea that I have to be polite to older people and that’s part of the culture – but I think it’s just disrespectful as a human being to not greet us, regardless of our professional status.” She continued: “There was a certain vibe [of disrespect] that I felt within the company.” Banzai Japan Music Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3syHHGzkF_s Hanni further alleged that she had seen employees bad-mouthing NewJeans on Blind – an app for internal communications similar to Teams or Slack. She also said Hybe’s PR department had contacted a journalist, asking him to downplay NewJeans’ achievements in an article about their record sales. Hybe has previously denied those accusations, saying they had been attempting to correct a factual error. However, Hanni said the incident reinforced her feeling “that the company hated us”. Kim Joo-young, who is the current CEO of Ador, was also called to testify at the hearing. She said she believed Hanni’s story of being shunned by another band’s manager, but had been “unable to find supporting evidence”. CCTV footage of the incident had expired before she had the chance to request it, she told the committee. “I believe I did everything I could, but seeing that Hanni felt this way and that the situation escalated to this point, I wonder if there was more I could have done,” she added. Kim also said she would co-operate with an investigation into the incident by South Korea’s Ministry of Labour. The story has gripped South Korean media and fans of K-Pop – where NewJeans have emerged as one of the genre’s brightest new bands. With slick pop songs like Super Shy, OMG and Supernatural, they were the eighth biggest-selling act in the world last year, and were nominated for best group at this year’s MTV Awards. Formed by Ador in 2022, its five members – Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein – range in age from 16 to 20. Despite the behind-the-scenes drama, they have continued to release and perform music. That’s partly because they are committed to a seven-year contract, which runs out in 2029. The K-pop news site Koreaboo estimated that the members would have to pay about 300 billion South Korean Won, external (about £170 million) to terminate the contract early. Hanni concluded Tuesday’s session by expressing her frustration at how the internal dispute had overshadowed her band’s career. “A lot of people have been worried about us,” she said, wiping away tears. “Some fans apologised for making us go through this, but I’m grateful to Korea for allowing me to do what I love. “The ones who should be apologising are avoiding responsibility, and that frustrates me.” Book Novotel Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RR8YYeb4PMk Banzai Japan Social Media Fumi Fujisaki Idol Riko Ueno Idol Rino Ibusuki Idol Yunagi Nino Idol Shiori Fujisaki Idol Kana Ichinose Idol Hoshino Arice Idol Sasa Sasagawa Idol Kosaka Yuu Idol Tsukumo Aira Idol Maika Ando Idol Yuuki Mochimaru Idol
