This comes alongside other careers content and learning opportunities, such as the EGX Career Fair and creative workshops led by experts in their fields. Faith Molloy An aspiring video game artist, Faith is currently studying Video Game Art and Design at De Montfort University. She has experience as a concept artist with Facepie Productions, working on fan and parody games, and has also apprenticed at Rebellion Studios, gaining hands-on experience in animation rigging for video games. Her goal is to work as a professional concept artist. The founder of Roucan and organiser of W.A.S.D, David Lilley, set Faith up with a series of 1-on-1s with game developers relevant to her interests at the EGX Career Fair, giving her access to guiding hands into the video games industry. Leigh Licorish Leigh aspires to work in comics as a penciller and has experience in all aspects of comic illustration, contributing to fan comics and charity projects. These include TFNation’s yearly comic and a fan continuation of Archie’s Sonic the Hedgehog comics. Their goal is to work for franchises like Star Trek, Sonic or Power Rangers, but they are also interested in being a concept artist for AAA game titles. Alex Rae, Comic Publishing Talent Manager at ReedPop discussed comic careers with Leigh, who is now planning to join the other talented comic artists in Artist Alley for the first time in 2025. People living on the Chalcots Estate in Swiss Cottage have endured years of building work to remove dangerous cladding the same as that used on Grenfell Tower. Maryan Nur, 33, told the BBC: “Imagine waiting for all of these years and you think finally you’ll come back to your room, your building, your flat and it’s inside out. In its latest update, the Met said 275 arrests had been made across the two-day event for a range of offences, including possession of offensive weapons, assaults on police officers, possession of drugs and sexual offences. One 29-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital following a stabbing in Warfield Road, just off Harrow Road, shortly after 21:00 BST on Monday. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said it was called to multiple properties on McGregor Road in Notting Hill at about 01:10 GMT on Wednesday. The front gable end of a row of three terraced houses, which had been converted into flats, fell to the ground. Nobody needed medical treatment at the scene, a spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service (LAS) said. When I looked up I saw the roof part was damaged. “There were I think three cars underneath covered with dust and damaged a little bit. He said: “I was in bed and I heard this rumble, I thought it was some form of earthquake or something, and I just thought ‘that sounds strange, and why’s the house shaking like that?’ “So I got out of bed and looked through the window and as I opened the door, I saw all the rubble. I couldn’t believe it, I thought I was in a movie.” He spent the rest of the night in a hotel and has been told to expect to spend seven days there. His flat is not damaged but all the communal areas “are crushed”. “We’re [the residents] still in shock because you don’t expect something like this, the top of a house crumbling down. We’re trying to get over things, calm down and get back to reality,” he added. ‘Immediate investigation’ A spokesperson for Kensington and Chelsea Council said officers went to the scene to see if residents needed support. “Thankfully no-one was injured and we provided accommodation and refreshments for residents who needed somewhere to stay.” Structural engineers and a building control team are assessing the situation. The spokesperson warned of disruption in the local area, including road closures, throughout the day. The building is managed by Notting Hill Genesis. A spokesperson said: “We are arranging temporary alternative accommodation for the households affected, and will continue to do so until their property has been repaired. “We have launched an immediate investigation into the causes of this faulty roof and what work needs to be done to ensure our tenants can safely return.” The LFB sent two fire engines from North Kensington fire station and a fire rescue unit from Chelsea fire station to the incident, which was over for firefighters by 03:00. An ambulance crew and a Hazardous Area Response Team were sent to the scene by the LAS.
